Meet the data
Your task
Inspect the three tidy input tables.
| File | Rows | Columns |
|---|---|---|
feature-counts.tsv |
One per feature | feature_id, then one count column per sample |
sample-metadata.tsv |
One per sample | sample_id, group; optional study variables |
taxonomy.tsv |
One per feature | feature_id, taxon |
Inputs live in data/example/. Taxon labels are fictional. Match sample A01 and feature F01 across the files.
Use your own data
Create the same three filenames in data/my-study/. Use unique matching identifiers and untransformed integer counts, not percentages. Additional metadata are retained, but the scripts do not adjust for them.
Check before continuing
Explain what a row and column represent in each file. The workflow supports different sample names, feature counts, and two or more group labels.
